Area Overview
On a clear and sunny day Foam Creek will match all your expectations. The snow is deep and there are large rolling meadows and skate park like features. Like steep? Foam has steep trees and steep open terrain. Access to the zone is dependent on snow levels in the valley which can be challenging. Keep checking this site and our social media platforms to know when we have opened the zone.
Foam is located in the North Columbia mountain range. Please check the Avalanche Canada North Columbia Avalanche Safety Report before you begin your day.
Grooming
Foam is accessed via the Finn Creek Staging area. There are 14 km’s of groomed trail to access the riding area. To create this access our team must construct a seasonal snow bridge over Finn Creek. This is snowfall related and typically we try and set this by mid to late December. Once we have the bridge installed and the zone formally open the status will be noted below:
Access to Foam is traditionally not set until early to mid January while we wait for the snow in the lower valley to build. We are working with Transmountain to improve access along the pipeline right away and over the creek. While the snow builds up we will do our best to establish the route and have zone access for all. SledBlueRiver does not recommend parking along the highway or at the pull off further up the summit to access the zone.
Wildlife Closures
The zone is bordered by Mountain Caribou habitat and Well’s Gray Provincial Park. Please ensure you know where you are riding and stay within the defined zone. If Caribou are spotted do not approach the animals. Please shut down your machine and give them time to move out of your immediate area. Information can be reported to info@sledblueriver.com
