Good day Riders,
We have been getting many questions about the status of SledBlueRiver and how are zones are shaping up. The latest event generated a lot of precipitation but much of it came as rain in the lower levels. We hoped to be in full operation by December 3, 2021 but due to the rain event we don’t feel it is prudent to open all our zones.
The zone updates are as follows and in affect until we update this site.
Finn Creek:
From a SledBlueRiver perspective, this area is considered closed. There is not enough snow on the lower aspect of the road. If you do choose to there please, please do not drive up the road with trailers. This will certainly cause issues for you and will affect the health of the road for our seasons. Trucks with single sled or sled deck can drive up to about 4km or 6km mark before the road is rideable. Parking is limited and we would recommend using the turnouts to turn around then park on the side of the road vs parking in the turnout.
Red Sands and White River:
We will be opening December 3, 2021 and will have a booth attendant at the trail head for further information. The parking lot is plowed and should be ready by tomorrow as the temperatures drop.
Fingers, Coulees, North Blue
From a SledBlueRiver perspective, these areas are considered closed. None of these areas have been accessed as yet (to our knowledge). Fingers is a new zone and we have much work to do to sort out access when snow levels in the valley are as low as they are just now.
Thank you to all our current members and those that are soon to sign up. At $40 it is an easy way to show your support.
Our new landing pages for the area zones are finally done! Well, not done but up. We will be adding more to them as we go but we feel they are much easier to use and understand our zones. This is an example of where some of your trail fees go. It is not all grooming to keep the clubs running!
We are looking forward to seeing you in Blue and appreciate your patience while we get things organized after some questionable weather this week. The good news is we have an incredible base layer which sets us up for a solid season.
