Hello Riders,

We at SBR want to thank you for all your support and understanding during this season of wild weather swings. Our ability to maintain the trail network is more dictated by temperature than many people may realize. As such, a regular grooming schedule has not been possible this season. We hope that this changes soon and we hope that you will remain patient and continue to support your club when possible.

Access to our zones is the most obvious purpose of our organization. We work hard each and every year to ensure each and every rider has a great experience while on the SledBlueRiver trail network. However, it is important to understand that the trail fees go much further than grooming the network alone. The costs to ensure you have a zone to access are considerable. Did you know that we patrol the Finn zones for potential wild life concerns before every weekend? Do you know the costs your club covered to gain access to new zones such as Fingers and maintain access to Red Sands?

Running this organization with a $25 trail fee (not changed in the past 15 years) is an exceptional challenge for the Board of Directors and I certainly hope we can all recognize this.

We understand the past few days in Blue River has been difficult. For this we do apologize for an experience that we hoped would be better. We do not control the weather. In the next few days we will see above zero temperatures that will make any smoothing of trails difficult. As such we have decided to cease grooming operations until the we see cooler temperatures. Our attendants will still be at the trail heads but there will be no trail fees.

If you wish to support us for all our other efforts in maintaining snowmobiling in Blue River we would greatly appreciate this. Donations, purchasing 50/50 ticket or our TOBE raffle tickets will all help us get through this difficult time.

Once the weather drops the trails will be shaved and the access to the best riding in BC will resume in full.

Last February was incredible. I personally am banking on the same. We are always doing what we can to ensure your Blue River experience is memorable and one that you will encourage other friends and family to experience.

I will finish by saying we are doing the best we can with the conditions nature has given us. Please be respectful to our staff. Without them, there is no SBR. If you have questions, comments or concerns please address me directly at info@sledlblueriver.com. Leave a number and I will call you back! Happy to.

We all want this to work. We all want cooler temperatures. We all want to be on a mountain. I hope to see you out there soon.

Kind Regards,

Andy
